University of Technology and Applied Sciences Organizes Training Program on Institutional Leadership and Sustainable Development
The University of Technology and Applied Sciences, represented by the Training and Qualification Section of the Human Resources Department, organized a training program entitled “Institutional Leadership and Sustainable Development” from 28 to 30 July 2026 at the University’s Salalah branch. The program brought together a number of university staff members as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to develop national competencies, strengthen leadership and administrative capabilities, and reinforce a culture of institutional excellence and innovation, contributing to the advancement of the university’s work environment and the achievement of sustainable institutional development.
The program aimed to develop participants’ leadership and management skills and equip them with modern knowledge and tools in the field of institutional leadership. It also sought to enable participants to adopt working approaches based on strategic planning, future foresight, and change management, thereby enhancing institutional performance and improving the quality of the academic and administrative services provided by the University.
The program included a range of theoretical and practical topics aligned with the requirements of the modern workplace. Key areas included strategic thinking and problem-solving, quality and institutional excellence concepts, innovation and continuous improvement in the workplace, the development of individual professional development plans, and the preparation of administrative development initiatives within the University aimed at improving performance efficiency, enhancing productivity, and achieving institutional sustainability.
The program also addressed the importance of fostering an institutional culture based on planning and innovation, while strengthening participants’ ability to analyze organizational challenges, make decisions based on sound and systematic approaches, and develop practical solutions that contribute to improving performance and the working environment in response to the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education institutions.
In addition, the program provided participants with opportunities to exchange experiences and practical knowledge and explore best practices in modern leadership and management. This supported teamwork and contributed to building an institutional environment that encourages creativity and excellence while remaining capable of responding effectively to the requirements of organizational development and transformation.
The program was organized as part of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences’ plan to invest in human resource development, enhance the capabilities of academic and administrative staff, and prepare institutional leaders equipped with the skills and knowledge required to sustain improvements in organizational performance. It also aligns with the University’s priorities for achieving institutional excellence and supports the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 in developing competent human capital, promoting innovation, and embedding the principles of quality and sustainability across different sectors.
